Fine large 19th century Tibetan bronze statue of Buddha,c1890. Well cast and heavy at just under 10kg this is a highly decorative and imposing piece. The statue depicts Buddha in a traditional crossed leg contemplative pose. There is fine detail to the face, hands ,feet etc and the Buddha has a lovely serene demeanour. The bronze has taken on great colour/patina following many years of use. Overall condition is good in line with age and use. There is a raised area around the neck which may indicate an historic repair or it could just be a feature of the original casting process? In any event it in no way detracts from this beautiful statue.
