Description

This is a beautiful, very good quality late 19th century sofa in solid mahogany upholstered in this delightful, colourful Zoffany fabric. The upholstery has been carefully and cleverly positioned with the birds centrally on all sections of the sofa. The fabric is Oiseaux de Paradis (Birds of Paradise) a linen union still available at a cost of around £200 per metre. The sofa is in excellent order with the mahogany frame superbly inlaid in satinwood and fruitwood in a classic regency style with roundels, floral and acanthus leaf design as well as attractive pierced carved detail.

The double end shape to the sofa is an elegant design and the exotic fabric really compliments the overall look of the piece perfectly.

This is raised on its original porcelain castors measuring 82 cms high by 175 cms wide by 70 cms deep overall.
