Description

This is a very good quality 19th century sofa with a beautifully carved mahogany frame dating from around 1860. The sofa is a most attractive curvaceous shape in the French style and is beautifully upholstered in a lovely sateen silk type fabric with a duck egg blue colour with ivory and pink floral repeat motif. The sofa frame is in solid hand carved mahogany throughout which is in beautiful order and has a nice pale mahogany colour with a very attractive patina. The joints are all fine and solid and the upholstery is in excellent clean condition. The sofa is raised on its original white porcelain castors and it measures 92 cms high by 145 cms wide by 74 cms deep. The seat area is 42 cms from the floor.
