Description

A rare pair of decorative 19th Century bronze relief portrait plaques of the Emperor Napoleon with a victor's laurel and Empress Marie Louise with a Roman diadem and dress. Napoleon legend: 'Napoleon Emp. et Roi' and Empress Marie Louise 'Marie Louise Empratrice'. Both signed Andrieu F. for Andrieu Fecit. Set in the original gilt bronze frames with hanging loops; domed glass front on the Marie Louise medallion and a replacement flat glass front on the Napoleon medallion. Both retain their original burgundy leather backs. France, circa 1810.
