The mystery painting - I have not been able to identify the trace of signature at the lower right - is dated October1908, and certainly is French in origin. On the verso, a mark from the colour merchants', as well as several hand-written numbers and inscriptions. Measuring 16 x 24 cm, the overall framed size is 22.5 x 31 cm.
