Pair Large (6kg) Chinese Bronze Censers, C1880

Description

Beautiful pair of large Chinese bronze censers, c1880. They have great shape and form, are well cast and heavy ,weighing nearly 6kg for the pair. The detail is very fine with Lion/Fo dog masks sitting under the highly stylised handles. Even the legs are decorated with Lion masks and paws. The main bodies have a central dragon motif and the lids are decorated with large Fo dog/temple lion finials. The colour/patina is good and there is just the right amount of wear to the base of the feet etc to show many years of use. Overall condition is good, there is an historic repair to the underside of one lid but all very minor.
