Antique Pewter has dated this piece to the Before 1700 period.
Antique English pewter triple reeded plate of 8.75 inch diameter. The front rim bears a very well struck set of hall marks for John Tubb of London who worked from 1686, these are of note as Tubb was one of a small group of Pewterer's who incorporated 'black letters' into their hallmarks, (see Journal of the Pewter Society, Autumn 1997 p32). The rim also is engraved with the ownership initials 'MH'. The reverse bears the touchmark of John Tubb.
