Description

A fine quality large late 19th century (circa 1880) French bronze urn on rouge marble base.

This bronze urn consists of a moulded rim to the top with foliate decoration below leading down to a central Classical female mask with Classical bust medallions below and fluted design, the back also with almost identical decoration.

The urn is flanked by a sphinx to either side supported by scallop shell and lion mask handles leading down to a circular, moulded rouge marble base with bronze decoration, terminating with four decorative bronze supports all with paterae and foliate feet.

This bronze urn is in very good condition for age and can go straight into a home.
