The chaise features (when facing) a finely carved scroll end left hand arm, below an upholstered arm, with a rising deep buttoned back, which downward sweeping back, terminating against a finely carved rosewood frame end. The chaise stands on superbly carved scroll legs and castors, decorated with floral and shell carved detail, supplemented by a decorative central carved floral cartouche, along a natural moulding around the chaise frame. Upholstered in a grey dralon upholstery, with a stuff-over sprung seat, the chaise would benefit from being re-upholstered as the existing upholstery is tired, therefore it would make an ideal re-upholstery project.

Condition Report:
The chaise would benefit from being re-upholstered as the existing upholstery is tired, therefore it would make an ideal re-upholstery project. We purchased the chaise because of the quality and condition of the frame and could see it would be a perfect candidate for a re-upholstery project. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the rosewood frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The rosewood frame has been wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. There are no missing carvings or mouldings to the frame. The underside of the chaise retains its two original steel structural support bars. There is some natural play to the frame, which would require tightening, if the chaise were to be re-upholstered (this should be done once the upholstery has been stripped off, prior to it being re-upholstered – a standard part of the process when reupholstering furniture). The chaise stands on steel castors, which are in generally good condition given their age.
