A Meiji period Japanese bronze okimono of a hawk atop a styalised mountain. The hawk portrayed in a ready to pounce image, with one foot raised the other in a tight grip, the startled monkey below. Dark brown patinated sculpture, high quality casting and insized detail in the feathers. Super lifelike pose this bronze appears unsigned but is of super quality and in original condition c1890.
