C18th Italian Settee

18th century
Description

A splendid late C18th Italian settee, retaining original cream paint and parcel gilt and of generous proportions. The padded rectangular back in a moulded frame having gilt moulded edges above the swept arms with carved gilt wood flower head paterae to the sides raised on stylish scrolled supports with gilt flutes. The loose cushion seat on the moulded frame having carved gilt foliate paterae corners; raised on turned tapering legs with carved and fluted gilt wood decoration. The upholstery stripped back ready to be recovered. Can be upholstered to client specification.

Italian circa 1790

Good original, sound condition. Commensurate of age and use.
