Rare apparently unrecorded Victorian brass letter clip, circa 1845, rejoicing in early 19th century agricultural and rural practices.
Stamped makers mark on the base

Featuring a medley of farming implements, packages and produce including a sickle, a scythe, blacksmiths and bee keepers implements, a barrel, two tied square packages, sheaves of grain, assorted fruit etc.
Registered design kite mark on front scroll, one package marked DFW
Good quality large clip a little bent at the mouth and small loss to the handle end but still good and sound with a strong spring action.
Length 6'' or 150mm, weight 186 grams.
