A beautiful demi lune shaped fireside footman from the late 18th Century. A most decorative finely pierced fretwork apron set below a heavy brass top with a hand grip for moving. The iron legs are straight at the rear with single front leg of a cabriole design, all with flat pad feet. This early example is particularly pleasing to the eye yet very sturdy and capable of holding the most heavy utensil.
