An interesting antique figure of a warrior or ruler, cast in bronze or bonze alloy by the lost wax method. It is a work from the Ashante/Ashanti people of Ghana in West Africa, who were renowned for their skilled bronze casting. Please note the dynamic posture, and the remains of gilding on the figure's gown and headdress!

Dating from the first quarter of the 20th century, the sculpture measures 30 cm in height without its more recent wooden base.
