Description:
The two-door wardrobe boasts stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers, along with elegant curved corners and edges and original vertical stepped metal and burr walnut effect handles. The right-hand door features the original working lock, with a working key and push-button latch. All internal locking catches are present and in good working condition. The doors open to reveal a single shelf compartment to the top right-hand side, below which is a hanging rail, with three hanging hooks. The left-hand side also features a hanging rail with a further three hanging hooks. Additionally, the back of the interior includes another four hanging hooks. The internal frame displays a label inscribed “A. & W. Stewart Cabinet Makers & Upholsterers, 41, 51, Bell Street, City, Glasgow”. The wardrobe sits on the original curved bracket feet.
This is a single piece wardrobe and does not dismantle – please check your access into your house and bedroom before purchasing it.
Condition Report:
This wardrobe is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. All internal door locking catches are present and in good working condition. The wardrobe retains its original metal and burr walnut effect handles and curved bracket feet. The brass door lock is original and in working condition, with a working key. There are no splits to the doors and they close flush to the frame. The interior is clean and the wardrobe is solid in joint and ready to use. This is a single piece wardrobe and does not dismantle – please check your access into your house and bedroom before purchasing it.
