A well modelled Meiji period Japanese bronze elephant circa 1890

Hand finished throughout with well coloured and textured skin.

Character signature to the under one foot.

Carved bone tusks.

220mm high, 440mm wide and 140mm deep. Circa 1890.

Overall height 11,1/2" or 292mm, tip of trunk to tip of tail 15,1/2" or 394mm

Weight 2554 grams.

All in excellent condition with no damage or repair.
