Victorian Mahogany Campaign Bed

19th century
Description

Circa 1860, mid-Victorian folding, mahogany framed campaign bed. Labelled ‘Robinson Patent Ilkley West Yorkshire’, the frame has brass hinges with spring base and raised on turned, tapering legs on ceramic castors. The top with removable leather and buttoned squab cushion with piped edges. Both ends can be raised and fixed in position with a ratchet mechanism (adjustable from either top or bottom).

Size 33 cm high (without cushion) x 40 cm high (with cushion) x 183 cm wide x 55 cm deep.
