A George III Old Sheffield Plate Bread Basket

18th century
Description

A George III oval Old Sheffield Plate bread basket, the beaded edge over a line of bright cut scrolling with pierced sides, roundels and further scrolling, to a plain centre engraved with scrolling initials JFB. English circa 1780.

Condition: Excellent, with a pleasing amount of ‘bleeding’ of copper through the plating and good colour, and with period engraved initials. The plating remains 95% present.
