A very handsome early 18th century George I chest-on-stand.
c1720.

The base stand section having a single long, deep drawer, with matching feather banding, supported by cabriole legs with ball and claw feet.
Feather-banding to each side of the chest and stand section.

Beautifully figured walnut with a rich honey colour and warm patina.
Very ornate brass handles and matching escutcheons.
In excellent antique condition, all drawers are strong and sturdy and open smoothly. Expected signs of age. The handles are replacements. The stand section is antique but not the original.
