-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-A very handsome early 18th century George I chest-on-stand.c1720.The top having a protruding stepped cornice above an arrangement of two short drawers over three long graduating drawers, each having feather-banding.The base stand section having a single long, deep drawer, with matching feather banding, supported by cabriole legs with ball and claw feet.Feather-banding to each side of the chest and stand section.Beautifully figured walnut with a rich honey colour and warm patina.Very ornate brass handles and matching escutcheons.In excellent antique condition, all drawers are strong and sturdy and open smoothly.
