An Art Nouveau Spelter Bust of a Beautiful Young Woman Entitled Undine

This stylish and most beautiful young woman dates to the late 19th century and is in the art nouveau style, it is finely cast in spelter and finished as bronze in two contrasting tones of green. She is entitled to the front with her name Undine and she is captured in a most elegant pose with her hair tied up and decorated with a garland of leaves.

Undine was a water nymph or mermaid and heroine in the German fairy tale novella by Friedrich de la Motte Fouque. Circa 1890
