Set of Pewter Measuring Tankards

1900 - 1920
Description

Very good set of 6 pewter measuring tankards by Gaskell and Chambers of London. Sizes: half gallon, quart, pint, half pint, gill and half gill. Dated 1915, they carry the War Department brand arrow mark. In good original condition with excellent patina. The tankards fit into each other for storage and travelling as they would have been used by weights and measures officials to check the measures of inns and hotels.
