A 19th CENTURY CARVED OAK THREE-SEAT SOFA, IN A WILLIAM & MARY STYLE, THE CARVED ARM SUPPORTS WITH ACANTHUS CARVED HAND GRIPS ABOVE AN OVERSTUFFED DEEP SEAT WITH FOLIATE CARVED SEAT RAIL, COVERED IN THE MOST UNIQUE CLOSE NAILED NEEDLEWORK FABRIC WITH AN ASSORTMENT OF ANIMALS, STAGS, RABBITS, DOGS ETC, AND A PLETHORA OF FOLIAGE.

THE FRAMEWORK IS A SOLID OAK AND IS STRONG AND STURDY, SHOWING A LOVELY PATINA TO THE ARMS, THE FABRIC ALTHOUGH QUITE BEAUTIFUL DOES SHOW SOME AGE WITH VARIOUS MOTH NIBBLES...MOSTLY TO THE SEAT, WHICH IS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. WE FEEL IT WOULD BE WELL WORTH RESCUING THE FABRIC, EITHER BY HAVING IT BACKED OR POSSIBLE REPAIR, THE BACK PANEL COULD DEFINITELY BE SAVED AS IT IS IN A BETTER CONDITION, OBVIOUSLY THIS DECISION WOULD BE LEFT TO THE PURCHASER. IT IS A COMFY WELL SPRUNG DEEP SEATED SOFA.
