Description:
Here is a pretty antique English Art Deco burr walnut serpentine shaped wardrobe, circa 1930, in excellent original condition. Comprising of an elegant Art Deco serpentine frame, the 2-door wardrobe boasts an exterior of stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers to the front and figured walnut to the sides, with a cross banded frame. The doors also boast their original vertical wooden handles. The left-hand door retains its original sliding bolts, top and bottom, to secure the door when closed. The right-hand door retains its original working lock and key. Inside, the wardrobe features a full-width compartment to the top, below which are a hanging space with the original hanging rails to the left, and a smaller hanging section the right, under which is a small storage shelf / cupboard. The wardrobe sits on its original moulded plinth feet and the back features solid backboards.
The wardrobe can be dismantled into two sections (if necessary) if access into the house is a problem. The wardrobe is designed to split vertically down the centre. However, it is currently screwed together as one piece.

Condition Report:
This wardrobe is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside fame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The wardrobe retains all its original fittings. The doors retain the original vertical wooden handles, door latches, lock and key; all of which are in working condition. The doors close flush to the frame – the doors are not warped, which is good. The drawers feature quality dovetail construction, quarter beading and also close flush to the frame. The wardrobe retains its original backboards and it stands on its original feet. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
