The linen press incorporates a moulded cornice to the top, above two panelled doors. The left-hand door retains its original sliding latches, while the right-hand door features the original working lever lock (with working key). The two doors open up to reveal a large open storage area, fitted with a hanging pole, for coat hangers. Below, is a bank of two faux drawers above a single working drawer. The faux draw allows long items of clothing (such as dresses) to hang unimpeded, so that they don’t touch the floor of the linen press. The single drawer is constructed with fine hand dovetail joints, is pine lined and boasts quarter beading (a sign of quality). The drawer fronts are moulded and feature good quality replacement brass swan neck handles & back plates. The key escutcheons, along with the original brass lever lock (with working key) are all original.

The linen press is raised on its original bracket feet (which is rare to see, as these are usually replaced with changing fashions or get damaged over time). The linen press also features the original backboards. The linen press dismantles into two sections (top and base) allowing easy access up the staircase into the bedroom.

Dimensions:

Total Height (top and base) = 179cm or 70½” or 5ft 10½”

Top Height = 109.1cm or 43” or 3ft 7”

Top Width = 120.7cm or 47½” or 3ft 11½”

The drawer fronts are decorated with good quality replacement brass swan neck handles & back plates. The key escutcheons, along with the original brass lever locks (with working key) are all original.
