The linen press incorporates a moulded cornice to the top, above two panelled doors.
The two doors open up to reveal a large open storage area, fitted with a hanging pole, for coat hangers. Below, is a bank of two faux drawers above a single working drawer. The faux draw allows long items of clothing (such as dresses) to hang unimpeded, so that they don’t touch the floor of the linen press. The single drawer is constructed with fine hand dovetail joints, is pine lined and boasts quarter beading (a sign of quality). The drawer fronts are moulded and feature good quality replacement brass swan neck handles & back plates. The key escutcheons, along with the original brass lever lock (with working key) are all original.

The linen press is raised on its original bracket feet (which is rare to see, as these are usually replaced with changing fashions or get damaged over time). The linen press also features the original backboards. The linen press dismantles into two sections (top and base) allowing easy access up the staircase into the bedroom.

Condition Report:
This Georgian mahogany wardrobe is in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering its age. Both doors close and lock comfortably. There are no splits to the door panels. The doors lock using the original brass working lever lock (with working key). The drawer fronts are decorated with good quality replacement brass swan neck handles & back plates. The key escutcheons, along with the original brass lever locks (with working key) are all original. The single drawer runs smoothly, closes flush to the frame and retains its original working lock, with working key. The press is raised on its original bracket feet. The linen press also features the original backboards. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
