A simply stunning dark birch serpentine shaped chest-of-drawers.
Early Victorian c1850.

Pine lined drawers of dove-tail construction.
Canted corners, with a plinth base.
Ornate brass swan-neck handles. All escutcheons and original locks are present, with a working key which fits all locks.

The figuring and colour of the satin-birch is superb, with a wonderful lustrous finish and warm patina.
Excellent antique condition. Replacement handles. Some decoration to the canted corners appears to have been historically removed, as there are slight minor shadows as to where it once was.

Very solid, heavy, strong and sturdy.
