Description

Serge YOURIEVITCH: an attractive BRONZE SCULPTURE of a ballerina which is entitled: "La Danseuse Nattova". The naked dancer is depicted 'en pointe' with her right arm raised, whilst it is titled and signed within the integral base. 15ins (38cms) high.

***Natasha NATTOVA was a renown avant garde Russian ballerina who successfully took up cabaret and burlesque in London Paris & New York.

***Serge YOURIEVITCH who was born in 1880 into a leading Russian family, fell under the spell of Rodin, who encouraged him to become a sculptor. He left Russia for the West during the revolution in 1918 and found great fame for his work.
