Henri Fugere (1872-1944) was a statuary artist, born in St. Mande, a city to the North of Paris. He studied in Paris with Barrias and Cavalier amongst others, and became influential in the Art Deco period for chryselephantine figures (usually a bronze body with ivory head; hands and feet) forever made famous by Chiparus and Ferdinand Preiss.
