Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It has a break fronted moulded cornice above a central mirrored door flanked by two outer doors with unusual moulding and spectacular plum pudding figured panels. The two left hand interiors have a brass hanging rail and hooks and the right hand interior has a fixed shelf above three sliding linen trays and two deep drawers with brass handles. The lower section has three drawers with decorative brass handles and the piece as a whole stands on turned bun feet and splits into several sections for easy removal. The mahogany has aged to a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
