An interesting and speculative 18th century (or earlier?) BRONZE STATUE of an Oriental deity ~ perhaps Guanyin?

This intriguing figure depicts the "God" wearing an ornate headdress and necklace decoration, whilst seated on a throne with two smaller figures in attendance. Possibly Cambodian or Tibetan, but certainly not Chinese. Date also unknown but clearly very old. Signs of gilding and red ochre in parts. 10ins high.

***Guayin is an East Asian bodhisattva associated with compassion, or the Goddess of Mercy in English. The name "Guanyin" is short for Guanyshiyin, literally meaning the "One who Perceives the Sounds of the World."
