Large Seamed Copper Pot or Log Basket

Description

Circa 1880, large seamed copper pot or log basket. With two seamed sides and fixed lifting handles which are riveted in place, it has a chamfered top edge with a fold. The base has been added separately and has another seam, and it has been plemished (a technique of hammering small sections at a time to give a continuous pattern). The log basket has been recently cleaned and buffed.

Size 42 cm high x 73 cm diameter
