A fine and early mahogany wheel Barometer with an 8" silvered dial finely engraved encased in a cast bezel. A silvered Thermometer scale with a long red alcohol tube. The makers name Dominic Gatty of High Holborn who is recorded in the Barometer Makers book by Edwin Banfield at 1780-1815. The case has a rope edge, inlays of shells and flowers with an architectural pediment and polished finial.
