A Victorian bronzed cast iron wall hanging shield believed to be a replica of the parade shield of Henry II of France (b.1519 - d.1559), featuring a central battle scene in deep and shallow relief, enclosed by a border surmounted by angels, the battle believed to be depicting the victory of Hannibal and the Carthaginians over the Romans in 216 B.C, numbered verso 3909,
