Description

ANONYMOUS: a charming Art Deco period gilt-bronze SCULPTURE of an exotic young dancer, who is depicted balancing on one leg as she dances, whilst wearing an exuberant head-dress and matching outfit. Original variegated marble/onyx base. Possibly Austrian as there is cold-painted decoration in various places. 11.5ins (29cms) high.

****Although unsigned, there is an almost identical figure illustrated in "Art Deco & Other Figures" by Bryan Catley (page 319) and another by Bruno Zack (page 306)
