Large C19th Persian Qajar Dynasty 'tinned copper' footed bowl.

Impressive large scale Qajar bowl with complex engraved and embossed Islamic style decoration and raised on a circular foot . Bands of shaped foliate medallions throughout. The copper body having been tinned or 'silvered' in traditional manner.

Some pleasing 'bleeding ' to the surface producing a mellow patina with reddish copper highlights.

Probably produced in the city and district of Mashhad , northern Persia , and area reknowned for the skilled manufacture of such wares.

In excellent condition with no dents or damage.
