Impressive late C19th Chinese bronze incense burner modelled as an elephant.

Large cast bronze elephant incense burner with detachable pierced pagoda form lid or howdah , to the back . Well-detailed quality casting , with raised trunk and tusk details. The body with caparisoned detail and raised features , cast with dragons and key-pattern edges.

Good dark patination with minor wear highlights. Some minor losses to hanging ring details and finials. The pagoda cast separately to allow access to the censer .

Impressive decorative bronze incense burner of imposing scale.
