Yolanda Gray Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The suite is constructed of top quality solid mahogany; with elegant scroll arms, incorporating fine floral cartouches. The suite benefits from a tastefully shaped top rail frame to the back of the suite, with an elegant gadroon frieze, which terminates on pronounced ball and claw feet. The suite features the original twin panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back. Importantly, the cane work is in excellent original condition. There are no holes in the cane work (it is rare to see a bergere suite where the cane work is in excellent condition). The suite is of good seat height; it does not sit too low, like other bergere suites you see in the market place. The suite has been newly upholstered in hotel quality hardwearing linen style fabric in an oatmeal / biscuit colour fabric; finished with matching piping and braiding to the chair frame. The suite also boasts all new luxury quality English filled feather seat and back handmade cushions, which makes this suite exceptionally comfortable to sit on. The cushion covers feature zips so that the top layers can be removed if they need to be cleaned. The suite features a firm sprung base below, which makes the suite extremely comfortable. The suite seats up to four people comfortably.

Condition Report:
This suite is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering its age. Importantly, the cane work is in excellent original condition with no damage or holes. The frame is also solid with no breaks to the arms or back of the suite. The suite has been newly upholstered in hotel quality hardwearing linen style fabric in an oatmeal / biscuit colour fabric; finished with matching piping and braiding to the chair frame. The suite also boasts all new luxury quality English filled feather seat and back handmade cushions. Therefore, the upholstery and feather cushions are in excellent new condition, with no signs of fading, wear and tear, or marks. The upholstery is therefore clean. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received. This suite is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
