Description

Fine antique 19th century mahogany double four poster bed, c 1890. The bed has nice decorative features to the pillars and scrolled carving to the pediment etc and stands on bun feet. It is an attractive and functional piece of furniture. It is in good original condition with minor surface wear/marks and small areas of loss to the veneer. The inside of the frame, headboard have historic woodworm holes (dormant but treated anyway).The base is a modern replacement (chipboard) and the material is old and while still serviceable is easily replaced to suit ones taste/colour scheme. The bed comes apart in sections to enable it to be moved/transported and will require construction (very easy and all fixings and instructions will be provided).It has aged well with good colour/patina to the wood.
