The frame of the couch is inlaid with further boxwood string inlay. The right hand side of the couch incorporates a padded backrest with a shaped arm, above a scroll shaped top rail. The left hand side of the couch is decorated with a lovely interspersed scroll end, which also incorporates further string inlay. The padded seat is supported by a new hessian webbed underside, which ensures the seat is well supported. The frieze displays further string inlay detail. The couch is raised on cabriole legs to the front, which incorporate further floral marquetry detail and inlay and plain out swept legs to the rear.

Condition Report:
This couch is in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The couch has been newly upholstered in top quality structured cotton upholstery, interspersed with coffee colour dots in a diamond pattern, on a cream colour background, finished with fine quality braiding to the frame. Therefore the upholstery is new and in excellent condition (it’s clean with no signs of wear and tear or damage). The padded seat is supported by a new hessian webbed underside, which ensures the seat is well supported. As the couch boasts the original polish it has a fantastic colour and patination. This colour can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The back and arms are also in good condition with no loose joints, and no missing inlay or marquetry. This couch is well constructed, solid in joint and is ready to use.
