The couch has been newly upholstered in top quality structured satin brocade upholstery, which features a “fleur-de-lis” pattern in cream and pale gold colours, with matching fine quality cream braiding to the frame.
There is a stunning floral carved fretwork pierced centre, incorporating a French rocaille (shell motif), which travels the length of the backrest. The couch benefits from a sprung serpentine shaped seat; the seat is firm but comfortable; you do not sink into the seat. The seat features a simple scribe moulded frieze and the underside is finished with traditional hessian backing. The couch is raised on fine curvilinear front legs, with plain out swept legs to the rear. The legs terminate on the original brass castors.

Condition Report:
This couch is in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The couch has been newly upholstered in top quality structured satin brocade upholstery, which features a “fleur-de-lis” pattern in cream and pale gold colours, with matching fine quality cream braiding to the frame. Therefore the upholstery is new and in excellent condition (it’s clean with no signs of wear and tear or damage). The seat is firmly sprung, but at the same time, is extremely comfortable. The underside is upholstered in traditional hessian. As the couch boasts the original polish it has a fantastic colour and patination. This colour can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The back and arms are also in good condition with no loose joints, and no missing carvings. This couch is well constructed, solid in joint and is ready to use.
