C19th 'Grand Tour' souvenir bronze mask of Medusa , mounted upon a pale grey marble panel and set in a gilt-wood frame .

Smart cast bronze mask depicting Medusa from Greek mythology, a Gorgon described as a winged human female with a hideous face and living venomous snakes in her hair and whose gaze would turn people to stone.

The mask mounted upon a panel of figured grey marble and enclosed in a deeply moulded giltwood frame . The top of the frame set with a large decorative patinated brass 'hanging' ring . The rear fitted with a hanging wire .

A striking image which has been set up and shown in an highly suitable and sympathetic mounting for wall display .

Darkly patinated bronze with minor rubbed high-points to the nose.
