Sold by: The Antique Furniture Company

Fantastic quality mid Victorian mahogany two door wardrobe dating to circa 1870 and possibly made by Holland & Sons. With a rectangular moulded cornice above two doors featuring rounded rectangular plum pudding mahogany fielded panels and standing on a plinth base.

The doors open to reveal an unusually deep full length hanging space with a removeable brass hanging rail (the rail could also be repositioned forwards or backwards on the slotted supports). A well designed ‘Barron & Co Patentee’ catch holds the left door closed, whilst the right is secured by a lock.

Very good colour & grain to the timbers and solidly constructed, some minor marks to the side as should be accepted for age and use, there is a shrinkage crack to the lower half of the left door panel and the green fabric lining to the interior is faded and marked.

The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately

Width - 61 ¼in (155.5cm wide)

Depth - 28 ¾in (73cm)

Height - 90in (229cm) ...
