Description:
The frame is constructed of solid mahogany; with twin satinwood string inlay and walnut banding and twin pierced central splats, secured by “O” ring pieces below a gothic shaped top section. Fine pediments sit above the pierced splats on the top rail. The back is connected to splayed arms, which are secured by shaped vertical supports. The stuff over sprung seat has been newly upholstered in top quality silk structured cream & pale gold chenille upholstery, displaying a geometric pattern, finished with matching gold braiding. This upholstery would have reflected the original style of upholstery used. The sprung seat is firm but comfortable; you do not sink into the seat. The underside of the seat has been recovered in traditional hessian material. The couch is raised on fine tapering string-inlaid legs, which terminate on spade feet.
The couch features a rich red-brown mahogany colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
The couch is in good condition having been newly reupholstered in the traditional manner. Therefore, the upholstery is new and free from damage, rips, and marks or fading. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There is no missing inlay to the frames. The frames and arms are solid and in good condition with no loose movements. The couch sits firm on the ground and does not wobble. As the couch boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic rich colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use
