This bed fits a standard UK double size mattress (4ft 6” wide by 6ft 3” long).
The headboard and footboard are constructed from good quality pieces of oak veneer; the medulla rays in the timber are superbly pronounced. The headboard and footboard are connected (via bolts) to the original metal sprung camber-folding unit, which retain the original central pins. The bed also boasts the original hessian and cotton protector, which is used to place on the underside of the mattress and on top of the sprung unit, in order to protect the bottom of the mattress from the metal frame.The footboard mirrors the design of the headboard; it also incorporates stunning oak medulla rays, which are visible in the oak grain. The footboard terminates on a geometric stepped plinth on bracket feet, incorporating the original brass castors. The bed dismantles into three sections for easy transport and access into your house. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved corners, clean lines to top and the choice of materials.

Condition Report:
This bed is in excellent original condition; this is what gives the oak its lovely mellow patination and colour. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and sides but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The bed retains its original complete brackets and angle irons, all of which are clean and not rusty. The bed dismantles into four sections for easy transport and easy access into your house. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
