Pair Of William IV Mahogany Wardrobes

A fine quality pair of William IV mahogany two door wardrobes dating to c.1830. This rare pair of wardrobes feature super carvings to the pediment and above each of the door arches whilst the mirrors have developed that lovely sparkle you only find on an antique mirror. The doors are fitted with ‘Langebear & Co’ brass catches as used by Gillows and each stands on a plinth base. One wardrobe is fitted as a linen press with three adjustable sliding trays and three graduated long drawers. The other has a full length 18 7/8in (48cm) deep hanging space complete with original brass hooks and hanging rail.
 
Constructed using superbly grained timbers with a good deep colour these are in very good condition and whilst not marked are of a quality that suggests they would have been made by a company such as Gillows.
