The Antique Furniture Company has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The doors are fitted with ‘Langebear & Co’ brass catches as used by Gillows and each stands on a plinth base. One wardrobe is fitted as a linen press with three adjustable sliding trays and three graduated long drawers. The other has a full length 18 7/8in (48cm) deep hanging space complete with original brass hooks and hanging rail.

Constructed using superbly grained timbers with a good deep colour these are in very good condition and whilst not marked are of a quality that suggests they would have been made by a company such as Gillows. There are some marks to the inside doors and one mirror on the fitted wardrobe has a dark mark near the bottom, the hanging wardrobe has a small mark to the moulding above the left door and a small dent to the top of the right door and which are mentioned for completeness as they will not be obvious in the photos.

The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width - 58 5/8in (149cm)
Depth - 24 ¾in (63cm)
Height - 88 ½in (225cm) including pediment
Height at sides (i.e. without pediment) - 83in (211cm)

Internal depth - 18 7/8in (48cm)
For transportation and moving each wardrobe splits into five sections (cornice, plinth, main section, two doors)
