French Walnut Armoire

1900 - 1920
Description

This lovely walnut Armoire in a classic Louis XV style is in very good condition.

It's shaped canopy has detailed carving of flowers and acanthus leaves.

The carved detail is continued at the centre of the base and at the top of the fluting on the sides of the doors.

The two mirrored doors have the same shaping as the canopy and base. One of the mirrors has slight foxing ( see photo )

The Armoire has quarter veneer detailing to the front and sides.

The Armoire stands on classic Cabriole leg with leaf detail and escargot feet.

The doors open to reveal four adjustable shelves one of which has lockable internal doors.

On re-setting one of the mirrors the date was revealed as 1912
