An Elegant Late 19th Century French Two Seater Sofa

An elegant late 19th century French two seater sofa.

This sofa consists of a polished beech frame, the top rail being shaped and curved with a carved paterae to the centre with carved husks and fluted decoration to each side.

The arms are shaped with carved finials to the top of each arm support.

The arm supports are turned and reeded leading down to the front rail, this has a central carved leaf decoration with reeded and tapered front legs with carved paterae to the top of the leg.

The sofa is upholstered in a French toile fabric of off-white and black colour. This fabric is very unusual as it is over 100 years old and is in super condition, sourced in a fabric warehouse in France and used to re-upholster this piece.

The sofa is in very good condition, of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
