Description

Circa 1920, walnut 2 door wardrobe by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh after a design by Sir Robert Lorimer. The slightly domed top above the doors with walnut panels and a classic Whytock & Reid/Lorimer carved knob. Inside the wardrobe there is uninterrupted hanging space with a brass rail and hooks. Beneath the doors there is double ogee moulding and a full length drawer, again with stylish Whytock & Reid carved handles. The drawer top is stamped Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh and retains its original key. There is a very simple apron beneath the drawer and the whole piece stands on 4 stylish squat carved feet which are typical of Whytock & Reid and Lorimer. Quality wardrobe made in Edinburgh.
