An Amusing Art Deco Bronze of an Ibex

1900 - 1920
Description

A charming and amusing Art Deco period BRONZE SCULPTURE of an ibex, or mountain goat, set upon its original granite base. Beautifully modelled and cast, it is signed with three initials ~ perhaps RKC ~ however the artist is at present unknown.

There is much humour in the treatment of this fine bronze; the ibex definitely has "attitude" and clearly wishes to let it be know that in his element, he is King! 6.25ins high (16cms) overall.

*An ibex is a mountain goat found in Central Asia and Ethiopis, characterised by long ridged horns, and a beard.
