Bedsteads has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The brass includes knobs, collars, knees, husks, feet and top and bottom rail supported by very nice rod ends.Original porcelain castors .The bed has been extended with side rails lengthened, strengthened and adapted to support wood slats so that it is suitable for modern king size mattress 150 cms x 200 cms . Hand finished in Little Greene paint company mid lead. Original brass plaque identifying the bed as having been made for John Lance of Cheltenham who were a prestigious shop in the HIgh St in Cheltenham that sold hats and fabrics in the early 20th century.
