Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
There are 2 removable bolster cushions and a removable large squab seat cushion. Above the feet there is a raised panel with a gilded rectangular section which is framed in an ebony frame. As the ribbing continues along at the centre section of the sofa there is a similar panel but larger and longer. The whole piece stands on 2 sabre legs at the front, again with reeding to the front and they taper to a large brass block toe and beneath this there is a brass castor. The back feet follow the same form without the reeding. The sofa has been re-upholstered and is in excellent condition. (Matching set of 4 chairs also available).
